Mary's

02.07.2024

Mary's provide open access, inclusive youth services co-run with young people: a provision that helps young people from all backgrounds to be better connected and better equipped with the skills and confidence to form and engage with supportive networks of friends and family, health and social services, businesses and organisations.

We believe that being better connected improves the prospects of young people, brings greater opportunities and sets up young people for lifelong fulfilment.

Thank you so much for Span Trust’s donation to Mary’s. We will be using the donation for our mental health work, in particular Games Nights. These are, as they sound, evenings where young people at risk of poor mental health or already experiencing negative mental health are able to develop coping mechanisms through social connections, discussions and learning to use games to relax and socialise.

It’s part of our Coping Strategies work – the young people can select what may or may not resonate with them, and try out different strategies. This is one component of the broader mental health work (so for more involved cases, we have a BACP registered Counsellor who can take referrals).
