Build Up

Span Trust is thrilled to be supporting Build Up, which puts disadvantaged children and young people in control of real construction projects that make a lasting contribution to their communities in the most deprived areas in London.

Span Trust is helping to fund Build Up’s Hackney project, designed with children and young people in response to the ‘Hackney Wick Through Young Eyes Report’, which gathered testimonies from over 400 young people about their experiences growing up in this disadvantaged area, to see a dilapidated public space transformed. Span Trust are particular excited for young people to deliver the project themselves.

Gaining skills in project leadership and teamwork; learning practical construction & creative design skills on the job; building self-confidence & resilience and get real experience of a range of careers in the built environment.
